Selecting a deck

Start by printing out 2 copies of the standard deck provided by the download PDF. This includes all the cards required for one player. Cut out the cards. It's best to insert them into plastic sleeves so that they are easier to manage. I also recommend putting a card behind the paper, so that it's a little stiffer, and so that you can't see through the paper when the card is face-down.

To customize your deck, choose from any of the cards in the collection with the following limitations:

- Cards with a star before their name are Unique cards. You may have only 1 copy of each unique card in your deck.
- You may have up to 2 copies of any other card in your deck.

Card Category Limits:
Each card has a category named along the left side of the card. Below are the numbers of cards that you MUST have for each category. You must take the shown amount for each category EXACTLY. This rule is provided so that decks are more or less equal, and can be played fairly without affecting gang ratings, giant killer bonuses, etc.

- Movement: 8
- Shooting: 14
- Assault: 10
- Other: 8
- Hazard: 4
- Archeotech: 3
- Fate: 5

Before starting the game, remove 1 Archeotech card and 1 Fate card. Place them face-up in a clear space on the table. Hopefully you will have enough room on your games table that you won't have to put these cards in the game area.

Shuffle the rest of the cards. Deal 5 cards into your hand. Place the rest of the deck face-down on the table, near your Resource cards. Now you are ready to begin the game.

The Turn Sequence
Untap When you begin your turn, untap any tapped Resource Cards you have. Tapping and untapping is described in detail later.
Draw

Draw cards until you have 5 cards in your hand. If you decide to take a bottle test this turn, you must do so before you draw. You may not draw a card, then decide to bottle out based on the fact that the card you drew didn't help your precarious position!

In the first turn of the game, both sides must be finished deploying before you draw your first 5 cards.

Resource Play up to 1 Resource Card.
Game Turn Begin your normal Necromunda turn. As the turn progresses you may play cards when desired. Many cards state clearly when they may be played during the Necromunda turn. For example: "Play after your movement phase." Details on how to play cards during the game are below, under "Playing a Card".
Discard After your game turn is over, you must discard until you have 5 cards in your hand. While the discard pile lies face-up, you do not have to discards cards one at a time, and your opponent may never look through your discard pile. If you have less than 5 cards, do nothing.
Playing a Card

To play a card, you must use a certain amount of your Resource cards. Each card has white boxes, black boxes, or both at its top right corner that represent the Resource "cost" to play the card. Black boxes represent Archeotech, white boxes represent Fate.

When you play a card, you must have Resource cards available that equal the number of boxes shown. As soon as you play a card, you must take the number of Resource cards that it costs, and turn them 90 degrees. This is called "tapping" a Resource card. A Resource card that is tapped cannot be used again until it is "untapped" at the beginning of your next turn.

If your deck runs out before the game is over, you cannot reshuffle your discard deck and turn it over. You may only play through the rest of your hand. Once you have no cards left in your hand, you may no longer use cards at all.
